Launched MORTAR at the Bounce Innovation Hub in February and having since hosted 11 cohorts, 118 entrepreneurs, 11 Life’s a Pitch competitions, and awarded $33k in grant funds.
Coordinated the distribution of over $14.5m in Covid Small Business Grants to over 3,200 businesses, 21% going to minority-owned businesses and 38% going to woman-owned businesses.
Created and registered a future Downtown Community Development Corporation in 2020.
Launched the Akronite App in August to increase community engagement, raise up woman- and minority-owned businesses, and help resident connect with local retailers.
Opened Amazon’s new 2.5m SR Fulfillment Center and anchored the Roming Road Corridor in November, originally projected to have 1,500 employees the center now boasts 5k employees…and 10k robots!
